Standing rules
Set once. Saves on this device and applies to every run.
Yard / depot ZIP
Where the truck starts and ends.
Minutes per stop
Unload, signature, out. Dense zones add a few minutes on top.
Default receiving opens
Default receiving closes
Break length (minutes)
0 for none.
Break after (hours on duty)
Fuel / slack per run (min)
Fuel, phone calls, finding the dock, a wrong turn. Real runs always have some.
Max run length (hours)
Flags a run too long for one day.
Calibration
%
Scales every drive time. 100% is the tuned baseline. Raise it if real runs come in late; lower it if they come in early. The run screen suggests a value after you log an actual return.
Accounts
Hotels with hours that differ from the default. One tap to add to a run.
How the estimates work
Every ZIP maps to one of 26 SoCal zones. LA County is mapped ZIP by ZIP, because prefixes there
straddle very different areas — 902xx covers both Beverly Hills and Huntington Park.
Drive times come from zone-to-zone distance, then get scaled by an hour-of-day congestion curve.
On long hauls the curve is damped over the freeway portion — peak traffic slows the urban ends
of a trip, not the middle of I‑5 through Pendleton.
Two stops in the same zone use that zone's typical internal distance, so a Norwalk–Huntington Park
hop isn't treated as zero.
Stops are ordered nearest-first, with a heavy penalty for missing a receiving window.
Not modeled: accidents, construction, truck-restricted routes, bridge clearances, border wait.
